Privacy policy
Continental Bakeries’ websites may include links to other websites that are not covered by this privacy policy.
Types of data
We collect personal data and aggregated data, to improve how we work and how we communicate with you. Personal data is data that refers to an individual person (e.g. name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.).
We only collect this type of data from individuals who provide this information intentionally and voluntarily, such as by registering on our website(s) or by providing their name and address and requesting follow-up contact from us. We do not require you to register or provide your data to us in order to use our websites or access their content. Continental Bakeries only uses your personal data to the extent necessary for the technical administration of our websites, for customer care, for product surveys and for marketing. Aggregated data includes information such as how many people visit our websites, which pages they access, what type of information they download, which browser and operating system they use, the name of their Internet service provider, etc. If you subscribe to our e-mail newsletter, we are obliged to collect your e-mail address, which will only be used to keep you informed in the way you have indicated. If you wish to unsubscribe from our e-mail newsletter, or if you want to contact us, please e-mail info@continentalbakeries.se or info@gille.com
Correct information and your choices
To enable us to keep your personal data correct, current and complete, please contact us if you become aware that we have incorrect information about you. We will update or correct any personal data that you have previously sent to us via our website(s). We would like to use your personal data to keep you informed about our products and services, and, if relevant, to ask you about them. Naturally, participation in any such activities is voluntary. If you do not wish to participate, you may inform us at any time so we can ensure that your personal data is not used for such purposes. You can find more information about this on the relevant pages of our website(s).
How we use your personal data
If you specifically gave your consent to receive e-mail newsletters from us, or requested to be included on our mailing list, we may contact you to ask you how we can improve what we do, or for marketing purposes such as to send you details of special offers. We may also use your personal data to provide information that is tailored to your interests, as we perceive them to be from the information you have provided to us and your activities on our website(s). This tailored information may include product recipes, product information and promotions. We do not collect personal data automatically, but we may combine non-personal data that is collected automatically (via cookies) with your previously provided personal data. For instance, we may ask visitors to our websites to complete surveys and questionnaires about their attitudes and interests. Such surveys help us to understand your needs. If responses to surveys are published on our websites, no personally identifiable information will be included. If you participate in any of our surveys, you can be sure that we will not retain any personal data about you in our database as a result of your participation.
Sociala plugins
Continental Bakeries and its subsidiaries use so-called social plugins (“buttons”) for social networks such as Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Instagram.
When you visit our websites, these buttons are by default inactive. They do not send any data to the social networks concerned. The buttons only become activated when you click on them. They then remain active until you deactivate them again or delete cookies from your browser (see “Cookies” below).
Once activated, each button creates a direct link to the relevant social network’s server. The button’s content is then transferred from the social network directly to your browser and is integrated into the website.
Once a button is activated, the social network may collect data, irrespective of whether you interact with the button. If you are logged in to a social network, the network may log your visit to the website on your user account. A social network cannot log visits to other websites belonging to Continental Bakeries unless you also activate the relevant button on the website concerned. If you are a member of a social network and do not wish to combine data collected from your visit to our website(s) with your membership details, you must log out from the social network in question before you activate the buttons.
We have no influence on the scope of data gathered by the social networks via these buttons. The data-processing principles for the social networks provide information about the purpose and scope of the data collected, how such data is processed and used, the rights available to you and the settings you can adjust to protect your privacy.
Cookies
Like many companies, we use “cookie” technology, both on and off our websites.
When you visit one of our websites, we may place a cookie on your computer.
Temporary cookies are used to count the number of visits to our websites. These temporary cookies will be deleted when you close your browser.
A permanent cookie may also be stored on your computer by your browser. When you log in, this type of cookie is used to determine whether you have visited us before or are a new visitor. The cookie does not obtain any personal data about you or enable us to contact you, and it does not extract any data from your computer. We use the cookie to help us identify website functions and forms that you have shown a certain interest in, so that we can provide you with the information you need.
The “Help” function in most browsers’ menus explains how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to tell your browser to notify you when you receive a new cookie, and how to deactivate cookies completely.
