The little GILLE biscuit – when simple flavours make every day a little bit pink!
GILLE Biscuits have had a given place in Swedish homes for more than 50 years! These cookies originated in a small café in northern Scania – and carry on a tradition of the tastiest cookies inspired by a home bakery.
Two Delicious Flavours
Cardamom and almond are flavours that bring to mind coffee breaks, warmth and tradition – but flavours that are just as timeless and modern today. These traditional flavours linger in our memory and remind us of good times and cozy ‘fika’ breaks. GILLE’s crisp biscuits are stored in a resealable container perfect for keeping at home – always at hand for a pause in your busy day. They are crisp and light, always a subtle companion to your ‘fika’, never too bold, but with a soft flavour that makes all the difference.
There is always a reason for a special ‘fika’, in your weekday, or for a happy get-together, or on a day to celebrate something special.
How do you make your day more special? Here are some tips to make the ordinary into something festive!
– On a dessert tray – serve cardamom or almond biscuits with fruit slices
– With your cheese platter, to contrast savoury and sweet
– As a nibble with sparkling wine, or with an evening coffee drink
Sweden has a long tradition of small, sweet biscuits with a tea or coffee break that brings people together – not least in our old custom of “seven types of cookies”, a must for the classic coffee table. The GILLE Biscuit fits right into this tradition, and at the same time has its own distinct character and stands perfectly on its own.
So simple, that it is elegant. So classic, that it is a natural. And so tasty that it keeps on showing up at ‘fika’ tables across the country – in the homes of both young families and those who remember their first cup of coffee with a plate of GILLE Biscuits.
